Slacking

I have been slacking on posting pictures and stuff, mostly because I forget my camera all the time now.

So this weekend we went home and took Coral with us. It was quite the adventure in the car. She fell asleep within the first 10 minutes then woke up about 2 hours later. As soon as she woke up she didn't stop talking. She always started off her sentences with "guess what" and before we had time to guess she was off telling about how she would rather play with girls than boys and telling us how she can name all her uncles. It was pretty fun.

Chantille and Jaren also came up but a few hours behind us. We had a great time hanging out, playing guitar hero, and shopping. Ok maybe Erik and Jaren didn't enjoy that, but they did enjoy shooting off model rockets made with glow sticks.

Monday, Erik and I got briefed on how we were going to get moved. Then we hung out at the Hill Aerospace Museum. This is where I really wished I had my camera. Just imagine really cool planes EVERYWHERE.

Weekend Visit

Over the weekend Erik's grandparents came to visit us. We saw a model of campus.
Then we saw real campus. This is the last of the DT towers still standing...well sorta.
Erik was happy show everyone his lab. He likes to work in this glove box, then come home smelling like latex.

Bremerton

Trip to Kentucky

Cooper is really swimming now! We had fun watching Cooper take swim lessons and Talia really enjoyed swimming in the pool after he was through. Thanks Sarah and Nate for showing us such a great time. We really enjoyed our visit and were so glad to see Cooper again. He is such a happy baby. Nate keep up the baking. It was great!

Here we are at the Ashford Stud Farm. It was fun to see how the wealthy horses live. I guess the horses aren't wealthy but their owner sure are. Most of these horse breed four times a day, seven days a week and they charge $25,000 to 65,000 for each time. They said the horses schedules were all full. That is a lot of money!! A famous horse named Scat Daddy was here. He was the great grandson of Oygiagan.

We visited the Old Friends Horse Farm. It has some old famous race horses and some not so famous horses. Talia enjoyed feeding apples to the horses. This horse is Oygiagan (sp?) He was a famous race horse and also had several famous children and grandchildren. She had a hard time feeding him the apple because he kept blowing it off her hand.

Here we are in front of the Louisville Temple. It is a small one and we didn't get to it while we were there but we did see it on our Sunday drive. Cooper just loved being with Grandma and Grandpa! Talia really liked these. This is a good shot of all the stalagmites and stalactites we saw in the cave. She took this picture herself

This is all of us in the mammoth caves. This trip we went on was to a small part of the mammoth caves, the biggest cave in the world. It was really amazing and dark.

Panama, try again

These pictures are in order from bottom to top so go to the bottom pictures first. This is the outhouse they had. I guess I will send all of these now and maybe do another post later. Hope you all enjoy them.

This is the humble home where we stayed in the jungle. The closest hut is where thy cook and eat the second one is where they sleep.

This is the local market in the Indian settlement. Our guide (center) bought some rolls there.

At times they had to push the canoe over the rocks because the river was low. Dad got out and helped push because he had sandals and Jed helped push with a bamboo pole from in the boat cause he just had his hiking boots.

Dad and I are in our canoe for the 12.5 mile trip up the river in the jungle. It was really luch and beautiful.

I don't know how to turn this picture but it is Dad at a banana plantation. The blue bags cover the bananas so the insects don't get them. They are on the bananas the whole time they are growing.

This is us with our guid hiking up the river on the same hike as down below. It ws beautiful. Dad is taking the picture. This is the one where we swam through the cave further down river.

This is a picture of a cayman we saw in a small lake on our jungle hike on the island of Bocas del Toro. They weren't in the rivers.

We saw this hippy van in old town Panama city and were surprized to find that it had a Kentucky license plate! The man with us is our taxi driver who took us all over Panama City for the day.

This is the locks again. I don't know if you can tell but the ship has sunk quite a bit from the last picture. It is going through the locks and heading out to the Pacific ocean.

Panama!!

This is dad and I at the miraflora locks on the Panama canal in Panama city. To the right of me you can see a large ocean ship that is beginning to go through the locks.

I am really having trouble posting any more pictures so I will have to try again later. Anyway I was going to post another picture of the boat sinking in the locks. I thought they were really interesting.It takes ships at least 8 hours to go through the canal at an average cost of $2000.00 The cost depends on the size of the vessel. the ships have to reserve their spot to go through the canal 6 months ahead of time and quite often they wait for at least 24 hours to go through. But I guess it is still quicker than going all around the tip of South America!

Cars and Cuts

Last Sunday (I think) Chantille cut me some bangs. This is what I look like with bangs.Erik thinks that I look about 4 years younger when I don't have my glasses on with the new bangs. I don't know about that...you decide. This pictures look weird because I took them myself. I was too impatient to wait for Erik to come home from school.
This, Devon, is our new car. Luckily, from the picture you can't tell how dirty it is. We really like it.
This is what you call a performance muffler! That is right Erik and I are sporty and we drag race down University Ave. You might even call us hellions!
Ok....maybe not, but we still have a performance muffler!

President's Day Sledding

Chantille and Jaren invited us over Monday for some sledding on the Point of the Mountain.Coral is really excited to go sledding.

Devon sent some picture this past week so I thought I would try and post some for all to see. He didn't send any explanation so we all have to guess.

It sounds like he is really having fun on his mission. Devon if you want to offer any explanations for thes photos we would love to hear them.

Early Valentines Day

Yesterday Erik took me to SLC to celebrate Valentine's Day. We celebrated early, because Erik's grandparents are going to hang out with us next weekend. We went to the temple, then ate at the Lion House. So delicious! Erik even bought me an orchid, even though the last orchid he bought me I killed. So i guess he is giving me a second chance. I forgot the camera so just picture the SLC Temple and Erik and I looking happy!
Here are the orchids that I killed Last May. I have replacements now, so hopefully I will do better!

It's been awhile since I've posted any on our Gibby blog- So, here are Coral and Carson before church... Since church starts at 2:30, we have quite a while to get ready. This is her first day of Sunbeams- She loves it!
This is one of Carson's first attempts at Rice Cereal. We realized we took a ton of pictures of Corals rice cereal eatings, but none of his- so here he is! He always makes a funny face right when we first start giving him the cereal, but right after, he starts gobbling it up.
